How to use the wheel

  1. Type or paste your entries, one per line. Names, foods, chores, prizes, anything works.
  2. Press Spin. The wheel slows down and stops on the winner.
  3. To pick several winners in turn, tick Remove winner after spin and spin again.

Ideas for the wheel

  • Classroom: pick who answers next, choose a reading partner or select a topic.
  • Giveaways: add each entrant's name and spin on a livestream.
  • Family decisions: what to eat, which movie to watch or who does the dishes.
  • Games and parties: truth-or-dare prompts, charades topics or team captains.

Is it really random?

The winner is drawn with the Web Crypto random number generator before the animation starts. The spin is just for show and always lands on the drawn entry, so the result cannot be influenced by when you click. Each entry has an equal slice and an equal chance.

Need numbers instead of names? Use the random number generator. Splitting people into groups? Try the random team generator.

Frequently asked questions

Is the wheel fair?

Yes. The winner is chosen with your browser's cryptographic random number generator before the wheel starts turning, and every entry has the same size slice and the same chance. The animation then lands on that entry.

How many entries can I add?

Up to 100. With many entries the labels get small, so for very long lists the random name list result below the wheel is easier to read.

Can I remove the winner after each spin?

Yes. Tick "Remove winner after spin" to take each chosen entry off the wheel, which is useful for picking an order of turns or several prize winners.

Can I give one entry a better chance?

Add the same entry more than once. An entry listed twice has twice the chance of being picked.

Is my list saved?

No. Your entries stay in your browser only while the page is open.
